My name is Dagrain Michel-Ange. I am 23 years old and I just finished my second year of computer science at ESIH (Ecole Supérieure d’Infotronique d’Haiti). My major interests are computer science, programming, mathematics, arts, volunteering, and reading about scientific and technological developments on the internet. I have knowledge in HTML, CSS, network, visual basic, java, CorelDraw, and others. In my leadership class, some friends and I are working on the implementation of a library in a free School (SOPUDEP) for poor Haitian children.
In my computer class when I was in high school I always loved coding. Coding is one of the reasons why I chose to study computer science. The beautiful outcome of the codes always seemed fascinating to me. I have attended many seminars on free software, and have learned that free software and better access to technology could be very beneficial for Haitian enterprises. My goal is to join the world of programming and network security and then to create small programs for data management that will be available for free for public institutions in Haiti. I also want to create free software and computer labs that people can use for free.
Even though there has been wonderful feminine intellectual achievement, some people still believe that women are not intelligent enough to have their place in the mathematic, programming and technological world. The Women’s P2P Network is the proof that women are capable of being heard through technology, and demonstrating how smart, creative and strong they are. This is the reason why I am interested in helping to build with the Women's P2P Network.
